To improve the standards of living for residents in my district, I will fight to create economic wealth through community ventures and high skill trade employment. We need to create family wage jobs that will allow parents to support their families, and support the local economy. My objective is to restore the middle class. I am the owner of a small business and I believe that small business is the backbone of our economy. As a legislator, my goal is to partner with small business and not tax them away. I want to find incentives to reward small businesses that are in my district to stay, to grow, hire locally, and encourage others to come. I will support programs to ensure developer incentives to build affordable mixed-use housing. I will support policies that build and sustain economic growth.

In order to improve the quality of life for residents in my district, we must began with a strong foundation, which is education. Without this foundation, it is like saying, “Where there is no knowledge, the people perish.” Today, a lot of focus is placed on No Child Left Behind. However, in my district, I cannot afford to leave any person behind. Unfortunately, many residents did not complete their high school education. I am going to Sacramento to fight for more funding for early care and education, financial literacy, adult education and vocational training.

I believe it is a fundamental right for everyone to have access to quality affordable health care. I want to ensure that health care providers are rendering services within their scope of work, health care facilities are staffed adequately, and to stop early unsafe discharges. California disgraces itself every time a senior is forced to choose between food to eat and prescription drugs they need to stay well. My long term goal is to secure Universal Health Insurance for all Californians and residents nation wide.

My goal is for every child to walk to school safely, excel with any other child in the United States, and compete on a Global level. I support gun control, and will actively secure state funding to bring the staffing deployment of law enforcement to a safe level that is necessary for them to do their job effectively. Residents in my district are traumatized regularly by gun shot wounds, and homicides. We literally live in a war zone, and our children cannot play safely outside without fearing for their lives. I aim to ensure public safety in my role as a Parent, Social Worker, Community Leader, and First Responder. I will fight to make sure our communities are safe and healthy environments for our children to thrive.
